Vũ Nguyễn
Civic Engagement Manager, He/Him
Vũ was born in Oakland and raised in San Lorenzo. Vũ attributes his understanding of how hard women work to his mother and two older sisters. Vũ’s interest in supporting the nail salon community comes from the love and appreciation he has for his mom, who has been a nail salon worker for 37 years and still works 4 days a week.
Vũ’s journey with CHNSC began when he signed up to volunteer with the canvassing team. He now leads the Integrated Voter Engagement Program by training and coordinating interns and members to conduct door-knocking and phone banking sessions. So far, Vũ has been able to help pass two successful policy bills for nail salon workers. In his free time, Vũ likes to visit the local breweries in the Bay Area. His favorite brewery is Fieldworks.
What never fails to make you smile?
“Seeing my dog, Noodle. He's my little buddy, always by my side, day and night. It’s amazing how he understands both Vietnamese and English — it just makes everything even better. Noodle’s presence lights up my day without fail.”
