AB 1575 -- Thanks for all your support!

Dear AB 1575 Supporters, Collaborative Members and Partners,

We are disappointed to tell you that AB 1575 (Kalra), a bill to require manufacturers to list ingredients on the labels of professional cosmetics, is being held in suspense in the Senate Appropriations Committee. Unfortunately, that means the bill was not voted on by the full Senate and is effectively dead.

The California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative wants to thank you all for your support of this important issue affecting the health of women salon workers in California and their right-to-know what they're being exposed to on the job. We could not have gotten as far as we did without your help.

We also want to voice a big "thanks" to Assemblymember Ash Kalra for authoring AB 1575 and championing right-to-know for salon workers, and to his legislative aide, Liza Chu, for her deep commitment to the nail salon community.

Of course, shout out to our cosponsors Women's Voices for the Earth, Black Women for Wellness, and the CHANGE coalition for their participation in this effort,

We will continue working with the nail salon community and NGO, legislative, and agency partners to make sure salon work is not harmful for salon professionals or their customers.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
The California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative
