Supporting nail salons with $120,000 in microloans

December 6, 2017 - The Environmental Protection Agency awarded $120,000 to pilot a microloan program for nail salons that want to achieve “Healthy Nail Salon” status. In partnership with Asian Health Services, Working Solutions, Opportunity Fund, the Federal Reserve Bank, and Alameda, San Francisco, Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties, the Collaborative will be playing an important role in implementing this microloan program, which will allow nail salons to receive zero percent loans to purchase safer, less toxic nail products and ventilation equipment as part of an overall strategy in helping improve worker health.
